Down on the farm

This is my buddy, yes he"s a Llama...his name is Yanni.  He is a such a
sweet sweet boy.  He loves his Hay and his pellets...loves
fruit, loves it when you sit and talk to him. I pet sit
Yanni when his mom is out of town.  He is one of
many four-leggeds in this household.
There are 4 small dogs, 2 cats, 2 donkeys
& 3 goats.  Quite a handful!

Now Yanni is a bit of a celebrity.  This likeness of him  below was made by one of Yannis moms friends and entered into the El Dorado County Fair. It was made with Yannis actual hair.  It looks just like him!  As you can see, he won a blue ribbon taking 1st place...quite an accomplishment for a handsome devil like him!  Hes very proud!

These are Yannis brothers, the two donkeys  that  he shares his pen with. They are one cute threesome!  Those things over their eyes protect their eyes from the flies and the sun....these two babies like to eat and they let me know when they are hungry!  YEE YAW YEE YAW!!

Here's one of his goat friends, the others wouldn't hold still for a photo..kinda like Yanni...aren't his eyes beautiful?

That's all from the farm today...

"Its a Sister Thing Swap" Reveal!

I joined in with Michelle of "Quilts from my Crayon Box" blog for the
"Its a Sister Thing" Swap.  The idea was that we were assigned a "secret sister"
who we were to stalk and figure out what they liked and then make them something.
These are the wonderful items I recieved from my wonderful secret sister, who just happens to
be one of Michelles REAL sisters....!!

Super Cute Vintage Sewing machine box & card

This GORGEOUS fall tablerunner, made with purples,
rusty browns, greens and creams..love it...so pretty!!

and last but not least, this cute cute super duper cute little trick or treat bag!
I just love it with all the little monsters and goblins all over it.  I know that Michelle
herself really loves Halloween because she was my See Saw partner for our Halloween See Saw...

I'm unable to show you pictures of what I sent my partner, I lost my camera
and didnt find it until after I mailed it out to her.  I made her a sewing machine cover with Owls
on it and her name appliqued, a crocheted dishcloth, some owl fabric and some candy
....that all went to Bea of "Beaquilter" blog...

Thanks to Michelle for yet another great & fun swap!

Whew!  One of two of my Star Surround           quilt tops is complete! Yippee Skippee!

It all started with this lovely pile of fabrics..

                                               Then.....
There were LOTS of flying geese made with
                   Melissa Corrys "no waste" method.
You can find that tutorial here: http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot.com/2013/08/star-surround-quilt-long-flying-geese.html

There were also LOTS of 3 1/2" Hsts

Which were made into these beautiful stars...the patriotic ones on top are for my second quilt..can't wait to get that one put together...squeal!!

Then we put all these pieces together and POOF!  This is what I have.....isn't it GORGEOUS??

I haven't even added borders yet and its huge!

Once again, I am so pleased with the outcome of another QAL with Melissa Corry of "Happy Quilting"...her instructions are phenomenal, her attitude is positive, she is incredibly helpful and overall a great hostess and teacher...Thanks Melissa!!
