Wow! This is one heck of a quilt! So many little pieces! I am a bit behind on this one but I am determined to finish, I just know I can do it! Heres my progress on Step 3, neutral strip piecing...wow...thats alot of neutral squares!
There are rows of 12, 10, 7,6,5,4,3,2 &1 of neutral 2 1/2" squares...this quilt is going to be huge!! This is a Quilt-a-long with Lorna at Sew fresh Quilts...heres the link: http://sewfreshquilts.blogspot.com/2013/07/oh-my-scrappy-stars-assembly-finishes.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+SewFreshQuilts+%28Sew+Fresh+Quilts%29
Heres some mug rugs that I made from the strip piecing scraps...I needed a little bit of mindless sewing after all of that....

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin 2013 REVEAL DAY!
Its Reveal day for those of us who joined the MMMRR13 with Michelle of "Quilts from my Crayon Box". The plan was...create a center block of your choice and then send it to the next scheduled person in your group. My block traveled all over the USA and beyond to many fabulous talented quilters! Heres the final product...I love it..
The middle is my starting block, a Lonestar paper pieced block in "Vintage Modern" fabrics...one of my favorite lines of fabric by Bonnie & Camille...so pretty!!
Then my wonderful quilty friends from Oregon, Yukon Territory Canada, Connecticut, Michigan and Ohio added border after beautiful border. Then, to finish it up into a quilt size, I added my Fat Quarter Shop 2013 BOM blocks which were also done in "Vintage Modern" to each end with some piano keys. Then added some scraps that I turned into pinwheels to the borders...
Needless to say, I am so pleased with the end result of my one lonely little block...I had a fantastic group of ladies to work on my quilt and I couldnt be more thankful to each and every one of them. They all did such beautiful work and put so much quilty love into my project! I want to thank each of them from the bottom of my heart, I will treasure this quilt forever...its definately staying with me!! Mine Mine Mine!!
Lastly, great big huggy quilty heartfelt thanks to Michelle of "Quilts from my crayon box" Blog for hosting this great Round Robin.....she is so organized and fun to work with! She is so patient and keeps everyone moving along...she is a great motivator...You ROCK girlfriend!
THANKS MICHELLE!!!!

I decided to use the remaining FQS BOM blocks for a pieced backing with a strip...The block on the far right is the label that all the awesome quilty ladies signed with their names and locations...you can see a bigger photo below...bordered with my scrappy leftover pieces...gotta use it up ya know!

I love me a tote bag!
Ok, I DO follow in my moms footsteps with having to have a tote bag for every different project, one for carrying all my stuff to work, one when I have the grandbaby, ones for trips, one special one for quilt shows....YES YES YES, I am nuts about tote bags...problem is....I HATE making them! I suck at it...I love love love them and all the little cute zippered bags that everyone in bloggy land is making....I get all these wonderful ideas of making them and then chicken out! No fun! I was lucky one time and won a cute zippered bag from Connie @ freemotionbytheriver. I use it everyday, LOVE IT! So why oh why am I such a wimp and cant figure these darn things out...heres what I like to drool over.....
Arent they beautiful?? So Modern and colorful....and USEFUL!! Maybe one of these days I will be able to bite the bullet and figure these out!

Aiming for Accuracy QAL
Heres my 2nd block in the Aiming for Accuracy QAL with www.quiltinggallery.com
Its hard to tell but the lighter half of the pinwheels are a very pale yellow dot fabric, I am sort of "flying by the seat of my pants" with the fabrics for this quilt, just kinda throwing oranges, aquas and greys around and see what I end up with...
