Potholders!

Every year I make a bunch of potholders during the holidays.  I sell many many sets!  These make 25 sets sold so far this year.  Not too shabby for a little extra spending money (aka GAS $$)!! I use one layer of "Insulbrite" and one layer of cotton batting...they are fantastic potholders...

Crystal Star Swap blocks

These are the two Christmas "Crystal Star" blocks I made for my QBSA Christmas Swap group partner.  Her name is Janet and she lives in Australia..I sure hope she likes them!

Scrappy Christmas QAL

Heres what I have been working on...this is another Scrappy QAL with Sunshower Quilts Blog.  You have the option of Christmas prints or regular scraps... Its all scraps except for the background fabric. So, another scrap buster!  Yay!

Heres my first 6 blocks..this ones a little time consuming with all the 2" squares.  I love the stars though...

Craft Fair!

We have an annual craft fair at the hospital where I work.  Every year, I say..."I dunno if I am gonna do it", then when the time rolls around, I bust my butt and stress myself out getting stuff ready, including baked goodies!  Heres a few pictures....just FYI, they give us really small tables, I had purchased two and my stuff was still very crowded! We had large quilts, many baby quilts, potholders, mug rugs, bookmarks, washcloths, homemade doggie biscuits, homemade fire starters, homemade English Toffee, Pumpkin bread from fresh pumpkin, choc chip banana bread, Pineapple Zucchini bread, Fresh pumpkin pies and Derby pies....

My English Toffee..pure Butta...so good! Sold out!

My famous pumpkin bread from fresh pumpkin...I always sell out of this also..

All in all, it was a great day and since then I have been recovering...so thats why I have been a litte MIA....It was definately worth it though...till next year!

I purchased this cute paper piecing pattern on Etsy the other day.  I just thought it was so cute...so I brought out the scrap basket tonight and got down to buisness...

My Scrappy Stash Quilt is Finished!!

Heres my Scrappy Stash QAL quilt FINISHED!!  Woot Woot!  I had so much fun making these wonky log cabin blocks in all these different colors...its like a fun rainbow and looking at it just makes me smile...so I am keeping this one for ME!

I just love it!!

Scrappy baby quilt FINISH! Yay!

Whipped up this scrappy "Lorax" quilt this weekend.  Cut the centers all different sizes according to my scrap sizes and then sorted through my scraps to find coordinating colors and patterns that I liked..made these darling wonky log cabin blocks and ended up with this hecka cute quilt...I really think its very happy and fun...very pleased with how it came out...not too shabby at all!

Another baby quilt finish

My sister needed another baby quilt in a flash so I whipped this up in a day and machine quilted it.  Its on its way to Southern California!

Its for a good friend of hers that just recently adopted a newborn..how exciting!

Housesitting....

I housesat for a quilter last weekend...look at her stash! Yay! I felt right at home!

Heres a picture of the view from her backyard, she lives right next to a golf course here in the Sierra Foothills....it was lovely, I could definately live there but I will settle for visiting...

beyond those red trees is a lake full of geese.  Next door, they have llamas and chickens...so fun!

I love Squishy mail!

I got a squishy package in the mail today from my blogger friend Michelle of quilts from my crayon box blog.  I had won a beautiful block in my choice of colors.  I chose Red, Black and  Aqua, it came today and it is gorgeous..she also included some other goodies...yippee!

I got this fantastic Applique book, I am so excited because I have never really learned the "right" way to do applique.  I also got three cute fat quarters and a cute star quilt pattern...Thank you so much Michelle, you made my day!

QBSA 12" November Swap

Got my 12" block swap done for November in the QBSA swap.  These are for Cathy in Cananda....she requested Maple leaf blocks..these turned out great, hope you like them Cathy!

QBSA 6" Swap Blocks

Got home from work last night to dive in and get some swap blocks done.  These were a real challenge, for some reason I really struggled with this paper pieced pattern...ahhh well, they are done and off to Mary in Canada..hope she likes them!

Ribbon Star Blocks

I made a couple of these Ribbon Star blocks the other night for one of my monthly swaps...it was alot of pieces arranged stratigically but its a beautiful block when complete...More scraps BUSTED!!

Happiness!

I can't express how happy I am to be living closer to my son and his little family.  I see them all the time now, they come over so much now and I LOVE it and I am so happy!  Losing our home was horrible but its a blessing in disguise in so many ways!  I get to see this little sweetheart so all the time!!  Yay!!
