Itty Bitty Houses!

This months block for

Quiltmaker Magazine Quilty Pleasures
"Itty Bitty Block Along"
are these super duper cute little houses!

Talk about a scrap buster!
These were so easy to cut out
and sew up!

I love this row so much!

I think my favorite ones are the black houses
with the little pink flowers, looks like the
houses have little flower beds outside of them.

So fun!

Another Spider Web Finish!

Bonnie Hunter addict here!

I finished my second Spider Web quilt.  I follow the free

This one is done with the center kites all made with
various neutral fabrics (I had 3 gallon size bags of those!).  I then
just dipped into my string bin and went crazy crazy crazy!!

I made 35 blocks, so its a nice big quilt.  The longarm quilting
is quite large so the quilt has a wonderful drape.  Its also backed
in a navy blue floral flannel so its very cozy!

Heres a couple of close ups of some of my favorite blocks....love
love love those cute Smiley faces and pumpkins!

and in pure Bonnie Hunter fashion, I have pumpkins next to
calicos & polka dots next to reindeers!!

I love these funky colorful crazy quilts!

A Patriotic Finish!

This finish has been a long time coming...this quilt
was a flimsy for almost 2 years!

This was a quilt made in a Quilt-a-long that was hosted
by Melissa of Happy Quilting Blog...I actually made two of
these, one a patriotic version and one in more modern pinks and
lime greens (that one is still a flimsy).

I am  happy to report that the patriotic version is complete and SOLD!

It turned out GORGEOUS, I am so proud of it!
It measures in at 85x85! A biggie!

It is going to a friends Maid of Honor at her wedding this summer.  The
Maid of Honor actually lives in London and loves Red, White & Blue!

She is so excited to give her this gift and I was happy to make it happen!!

Heres another photo of the entire quilt...I stood on a chair in
the hospital lobby to get this photo, thank goodness people dont even
blink when they see me doing things like this!  Ha!
Its a great finish and I am so proud of this quilt!

RSC Flimsy!

Last year for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge 2014, I
made Churn Dash blocks each month...I decided
to sash the blocks and use extra scraps of 3 1/2" blocks
for cornerstones..

Then when I went to put them all together of course I didnt think
it was big enough and I dont really care for a
square quilt...so I made 8 more blocks to spread the color around a little bit...

This is the back...love how it gives a stained glass look!

Heres a close up of a few of the blocks...I lost some points...argh..
I am still learning how to trim those darn Hst's...I'm getting there!

Urban Churn Dash QAL

Another flimsy complete!

Heres my Urban Churn Dash quilt that I made along with
PieceNQuilt.com blogs QAL

Heres the link to check it out:
http://www.pieceandquilt.com/2014/12/urban-churndash-simple-sew-along.html

I made mine with recycled shirts for the blocks and sashings
and some Joanns Country Classics solid for the background.

These blocks are huge, 24" finished!
So these blocks were pieced quickly...the sashings took a
little longer but I think that they are so worth the time...

Pardon my windy breezy pictures.....

Its definately a "Guy" quilt...those are always needed!

Celtic Solstice #2 is a flimsy!

Whew!

Celtic Solstice #2 is a flimsy!  Yippee!

All of you who have been following along with me or have made a
Celtic Solstice by Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville
know that her patterns are addictive, scrappy and a bit
time consuming....

But OH SO WORTH IT!!

My blue & brown version is a flimsy and ready for quilting!

Its gorgeous, it turned out just as I imagined...and I love it!

I set the border triangles a little differently this time but I think
they look ok...I sure as heck am not ripping them out!!

To top it off, I pieced a bunch of older calico pieces together
for the backing...using it up!!

I have already sent this one off to my best
Quilty BFF Kathy in Ohio for some of her
bomb longarm quilting...she has a pattern called
Lords Egyptian Eye that is going to look
AMAZING!!

You can find Kathys blog here:
new2quilting.blogspot.com

I cant wait to see it finished! Yay!

Another Bonnie quilt for ME!

RSC March!

Yellow is the color for March in the RSC....

Now anyone who knows me or has followed along
on my blog for a little bit knows....
there isnt much yellow in this Quilters stash!!

So with no further ado...I scrounged up enough
scraps for my Wonky Star Block..

I had to use a couple repeat fabrics but I
got the job done...most of my yellows in my stash lean
more towards "toffee" or "gold" so it wasnt like I could just
go into the yellow drawer and make a few cuts...NOT.
I actually dug through all of my Scrap User system bins to find these
yellows...whatever works eh?!

Thanks for stopping by!

Little bit of shopping

So, while at the Folsom Quilt Guild Show
this month, I was the lucky recipient of a winning
$20 gift card for a quilt shop in Fair Oaks, CA called
"Thistle Dew".  I visit the shop occasionally, its a really
nice shop, so I was thrilled when I won.

While browsing through the program for the Quilt show, I came
across a coupon for the "Thistle Dew" quilt shop for an
additonal 20% off....Whoop Whoop!  Needless to say, off I
went down the highway to see what I could score!

I decided on these batiks in 1/8th yard cuts, and the one batik
on the right with the swirls I got a 1/2 yd of, I just couldn't
resist it..so pretty!  I then found that yummy lemon
fat quarter on the left in the sale section....that brought my total
to $18.55!  So, poor me, I had to find another fat quarter to throw into
my pile...so thats the lime colored print second from the left...
My entire pile here cost me $1.35!!! Now thats the way to do it!!

SCORE!!!
