Damons Quilt

You may remember this quilt that I blogged about last month,
its for my nephew Damon who is a student at
Sacramento State University.  He is a Mechanical Engineer Student.

I decided to go very masculine with his quilt and use recycled
mens shirts and make string blocks...

I even talked his brother into helping me!
This is Damons younger brother Zane...he is also a student at
Sacramento State.  He loves to come and hang out with his crazy
Aunt Julianne on the weekends..so I put him to work!  Its
fantastic to see this 6' 3" handsome guy sewing! His
grandmother would be so proud!

Probably needless to say, he is a dork just like me...
must be genetic! LOL!

He completed several blocks...and he did a great job!
I was so thankful for the help, lord knows I have a ton of stuff to
get done for craft fairs and the holidays! He was a big help to me!

Heres where we left off...I put all of our blocks together
and we have a good size top, now I just need to figure
out borders and then wrestle with the longarm!

Heres a close up...its pretty neat looking!
I know Damon will love it, hes been wanting a new quilt
for quite a while and I know he will be thrilled!

QBSA-November

Heres my block for my partner in the
QBSA Paper Pieced group for November,
this one is for Kerry in Australia..she requested
any block in a variety of greens,
Jade, Mint, Bottle Green, Teal Etc with Grey.

Then my partner Wendy, also from Australia
in the QBSA 12" group requested any block in
Mushroom, Taupe, Sands & Tans...
so I killed two birds with one stone and made her the same block...

Done and in the mail, they should have them by now!

Sisters Choice

I was watching Quilt Cam with Bonnie Hunter a few
episodes ago and she was making one of her
free patterns...Sisters Choice.  Needless to say,
I got a itch and tickle and a cramp and started one immediately.
Is anyone surprised by that?
I decided to do all different scraps for the Orange Star points...the 9 patches are all random scraps as are the neutrals!!

Heres 42 blocks all put together....I love it!

A close up of all this Scrapalicious Deliciousness!!

Block Lotto Quilt Top complete!

These are the Blue Bar blocks that I won in the
Block Lotto @ Blocklotto.com

This top was completed with scraps and bits
from my stash for the borders, didn't cost me a dime!
I love all the different blues...time to get it on
the dreaded longarm frame!!

Another finish coming up!

My pal Kathy of Kathys Quilting Blog
@ new2quilting.blogspot.com
turned me onto the Block Lotto. She and I are
always getting each other into Quilty trouble, but honestly I
think neither of us would have it any other way!
She is truly a "sister from another mister"...one of these days I
hope to get to meet her!

Planned Round Robin Starter Block

Crazy me joined up with Beaquilter.com for a planned Round Robin.
Thats where your single center block travels all over the states and
has rows added to it every month, then when you get it back, its
a pretty good size quilt that you can complete or add to.  Its alot
of fun, I always am so thrilled with the finished product!

This is my "Scrap Attack" Starter block, I love it,
its so "ME", Scrappy Deliciousness!!! Cant wait to see what all the
Awesome quilters do to it! I know it will be amazing!
Yippee!!

Grand Illusion Fabric Pull Update

I am getting ready for the new
Bonnie Hunter Mystery!!

GRAND ILLUSION!!

Since I am not a huge fan of lots of yellow in a
quilt, I have decided to use this toffee color instead.

I also added some plums to my pink pile...I think its looking
pretty good, cant wait to get started!

Thanks Bonnie!
Looking forward to another gorgeous quilt!
