I think its needless to say, but the seam ripper pointy sharpy thingies were a pain in the butt to do...I dropped a few naughty words while trying to get this one done...but wooohoooo its done!

A Finish!

This was a quilt made for a Quilt-A-Long with "Sunshower Quilts" blog...its completely scrappy! I love it!

Asterisk Block

This is my block for March for the "Simply Solids Bee", the requested block was an "Asterisk" block, it was tricky to make!

Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday was last Friday, the 22nd.  My husband and I decided to spend my birthday in Reno, NV....I like it there, we hit all the quilt shops and thrift stores...we always come home with good stuff!  This time though, we also hit a couple of bakerys that I "googled"...they didnt dissapoint! Check out these yummies from "Josefs Vienna" & "House of Bread"...good lord in heaven...it all looked good!

I brought home a slice of Red Velvet cake and Mocha Cake for my son and his wife, one ladybug cookie, a dinosaur cookie and a monkey cookie for my grandaughter...and we got 2 peach tarts and a loaf of lemon bread for us.....good lord, I was in heaven...my biggest weakness is sweets and bread...we will definately be making this a Reno destination from now all...

Starburst Qal is done!

Oh my goodness! I marathon sewed yesterday and got my

Starburst QAL quilt finished!

Its part of QAL with Melissa Corry @ Happy Quilting

I decided to go modern with the color scheme and use brights with gray...I think I did ok! Then instead of just solid gray sashings, I went with 1 1/2" piano keys...I wanted to used up leftover fabrics...so I did the piano keys between the blocks and on the border....problem is, I still ended up with a stack of scraps...ahhh well, it was worth the effort!  I am just so happy that its done..its a monster at 85" square...WOW!  Its not the best picture and I apologize for that. I will write another post up after its quilted and bound...

So....we all started the round robin by making a

center block.  Mine is the paper pieced heart

to the left center below.  It then went to a whole group

of talented quilters all over the U. S. A. and even

overseas to England once!  Those great ladies were: Diane

in England, Kathy in Washington, and Rachelle in Michigan. These fabulous ladies added their

own special touches by adding a border to my quilt

during my quilts stay with them...Heres the end result!

StarBurst QAL

I am following along with Meslissa of "Happy Quilting" with her Starburst QAL.  Our mission this week was to complete two out of four of our blocks...Heres my first two..they are huge!  32"!

Almost caught up!

 

 

I got 3 more FQS BOM done yesterday, now I am only behind by one block..these are blocks 5,6 & 7....all done with Moda Vintage Modern, I just love this fabric line so much...I am dying to get my hands on more Bonnie & Camille fabrics...

 

 

A finish! Yippee!

Yippee!  I finished a quilt....this is a Moda Bake Shop pattern called "Ritzy Cracker"..its my "go to" pattern because it is so quick, easy and cute!  It uses one charm pack plus a background...this charm pack was Kate Spain "Cuzco" collection with some Kona Eggplant for the background.  I just love the beautiful eggplant purple, mint greens and beautiful birds..I used a recycled sheet for the back...straight line quilted it on my home machine, I love it!

Birthday present for a good friend

My good friend Kim, her birthday was Sunday..she has horses and love to ride and compete.  She is a wonderful friend to me.  We also work together which is a plus!  I whipped this up last night, its a table mat...took me 3 1/2 hrs, but its done....hand stitched binding and a label!

Kids say the darnest things!

So back in 2011, I made my grandaughter an "I Spy" quilt for her 1st Birthday.  Heres a picture of her with her mommy at her Birthday party...after opening up her quilt...

She was so cute...this picture shows me just how much she has grown since then.  The reason I am showing you this picture is that over the weekend while at their house spending time with her,we were playing with the quilt having her find things and she was telling us what things were, now mind you, she is 2 1/2 now...she says to my sons friends daughter (shes about 12)...."Look at my pretty blanket, my Ganny made it for me".  Needless to say, I almost started bawling..it was just so sweet...shes just the best!!  She steals my heart every chance she gets...I'm so proud to be her Ganny!

Row-A-Long Row 10...Houses!

I was so Naughty!! :-)

I got all but 2 prints of the full collection of Chicopee, an early Birthday present to myself!!!  Yippee!!  I just have to say that Caitlyn @ "i dont do dishes" on Etsy is wonderful, her store is great, she is so kind and responds to emails fast...it shipped fast too!!

It didnt stop there...I also went to fabric.com and got a bunch of stuff but this is what I really wanted..Kaffe Fassett "Juniper"...GORGEOUS!!


I'm really really NAUGHTY....but it feels so good! Happy early Birthday to me!

Wonky Dr Seuss!!

 

I just love making these wonky Dr Seuss blocks, they are just so bright and fun and the best part is I can use up scraps and just wing it....So Fun!
