Row-A-Long!

Well, good news....I am caught up on "Bee in my bonnets" Row along! Yippee!  Heres the last two rows....leaves (look more like christmas lights to me) and mittens!

Scrappy Christmas QAL

Heres my non Christmas version of the Scrappy Christmas QAL, I decided to do just regular scraps instead of Christmas scraps.  It turned out nice and big..just need to border it and it will be ready for backing,quilting and binding.

Minnie Mouse done & delivered!

Sorry, I have been a bit "MIA" lately, I havent been able to find the cord that takes the pictures off my camera and onto my computer.  We found it today out in my car, dont know how it ended up there...just grateful to have finally found it!

Heres the Minnie Mouse quilt that I did for my girlfriends grandaughter Kaidyn..she gave it to her for Christmas and Kaidyn LOVED IT...walked right on over to it and said to everyone "NO TOUCH"...! Ha! LOL!  I think thats a win!

Heres a picture of my nephew Leif with his new quilt that I gave him for Christmas.  Its the zig zag quilt I did in a QAL.  Its all done in Kona Chinese red and black and white prints, backed with black and white plaid flannel and straight line quilted.  It turned out perfect for a guy! He loved it! I'm so happy!

This quilt and I had a love/hate relationship the entire time it was being made..I love the end result..its backed with red snowflake flannel and longarm quilted.  The binding is green holly...again, please go to the above website and vote for your favorite (me!).  LOL!  Merry Christmas all!!

WIP Wednesday!

This is a quilt that I am making for a good friend at work.  It is for her grandaughter Kaidyn, who is two months younger than my grandaughter Jayden. Kaidyn LOVES Minnie Mouse...so obviously that is the theme here...

Modern Christmas Swap 2012

This is the paper pieced "Circle of Geese" that I made into a mini wallhanging for my partner in the Modern christmas Swap.  It was alot of fun to make, I have this grand plan to make a few more for Christmas presents, we'll see if that happens..wish me luck!

Block Swap Adventure Block

My partner for this month requested this paper pieced "Lonestar" block from Fresh Lemons blog.  It was pretty easy to make, I think its pretty! Scraps busted!!

I just love this little quilt I received from Kris in Logan, UT.  It so bright and fun, made with Kaffe Fassett fabrics and it has POLKA DOTS!  Whats not to love right?  Pure Bliss!

Boys Robot Quilt

This baby boy quilt has a robot theme.  I got the charm pack from connectingthreads.com.  Paired it with cadet cotton broadcloth from fabric.com and quilted it with organic straight line quilting. Its super cute!

Playing on "Easy Street"

I decided to join in on Bonnie Hunters mystery quilt "Easy Street".  Part one was to make almost 200 4 patch blocks from Black on White and our Gray background...got those finished up today, heres what that pile looks like...  Now on to Part 2!

Lucky Stars Block of the Month Club!

I've joined in with "Dont call me Betsy" blog for her new paper pieced stars BOM...we got our first starter block the day after Christmas....I've decided to use the birthstone colors for each month of year for each months block...so January is "Garnets"...so I did this one in reds (forgetting of course that this is a practice block and not the January block! Duh!)  Anyways, here it is, the practice first block!

Potholders!

Every year I make a bunch of potholders during the holidays.  I sell many many sets!  These make 25 sets sold so far this year.  Not too shabby for a little extra spending money (aka GAS $$)!! I use one layer of "Insulbrite" and one layer of cotton batting...they are fantastic potholders...

Scrappy Christmas QAL

Heres what I have been working on...this is another Scrappy QAL with Sunshower Quilts Blog.  You have the option of Christmas prints or regular scraps... Its all scraps except for the background fabric. So, another scrap buster!  Yay!

Heres my first 6 blocks..this ones a little time consuming with all the 2" squares.  I love the stars though...

Craft Fair!

We have an annual craft fair at the hospital where I work.  Every year, I say..."I dunno if I am gonna do it", then when the time rolls around, I bust my butt and stress myself out getting stuff ready, including baked goodies!  Heres a few pictures....just FYI, they give us really small tables, I had purchased two and my stuff was still very crowded! We had large quilts, many baby quilts, potholders, mug rugs, bookmarks, washcloths, homemade doggie biscuits, homemade fire starters, homemade English Toffee, Pumpkin bread from fresh pumpkin, choc chip banana bread, Pineapple Zucchini bread, Fresh pumpkin pies and Derby pies....

My English Toffee..pure Butta...so good! Sold out!

My famous pumpkin bread from fresh pumpkin...I always sell out of this also..

All in all, it was a great day and since then I have been recovering...so thats why I have been a litte MIA....It was definately worth it though...till next year!

I purchased this cute paper piecing pattern on Etsy the other day.  I just thought it was so cute...so I brought out the scrap basket tonight and got down to buisness...

My Scrappy Stash Quilt is Finished!!

Heres my Scrappy Stash QAL quilt FINISHED!!  Woot Woot!  I had so much fun making these wonky log cabin blocks in all these different colors...its like a fun rainbow and looking at it just makes me smile...so I am keeping this one for ME!

Scrappy baby quilt FINISH! Yay!

Whipped up this scrappy "Lorax" quilt this weekend.  Cut the centers all different sizes according to my scrap sizes and then sorted through my scraps to find coordinating colors and patterns that I liked..made these darling wonky log cabin blocks and ended up with this hecka cute quilt...I really think its very happy and fun...very pleased with how it came out...not too shabby at all!

Another baby quilt finish

My sister needed another baby quilt in a flash so I whipped this up in a day and machine quilted it.  Its on its way to Southern California!

Its for a good friend of hers that just recently adopted a newborn..how exciting!

Housesitting....

I housesat for a quilter last weekend...look at her stash! Yay! I felt right at home!

Heres a picture of the view from her backyard, she lives right next to a golf course here in the Sierra Foothills....it was lovely, I could definately live there but I will settle for visiting...

beyond those red trees is a lake full of geese.  Next door, they have llamas and chickens...so fun!

I love Squishy mail!

I got a squishy package in the mail today from my blogger friend Michelle of quilts from my crayon box blog.  I had won a beautiful block in my choice of colors.  I chose Red, Black and  Aqua, it came today and it is gorgeous..she also included some other goodies...yippee!

I got this fantastic Applique book, I am so excited because I have never really learned the "right" way to do applique.  I also got three cute fat quarters and a cute star quilt pattern...Thank you so much Michelle, you made my day!
