Kids say the darnest things!

So back in 2011, I made my grandaughter an "I Spy" quilt for her 1st Birthday.  Heres a picture of her with her mommy at her Birthday party...after opening up her quilt...

She was so cute...this picture shows me just how much she has grown since then.  The reason I am showing you this picture is that over the weekend while at their house spending time with her,we were playing with the quilt having her find things and she was telling us what things were, now mind you, she is 2 1/2 now...she says to my sons friends daughter (shes about 12)...."Look at my pretty blanket, my Ganny made it for me".  Needless to say, I almost started bawling..it was just so sweet...shes just the best!!  She steals my heart every chance she gets...I'm so proud to be her Ganny!

  1. Cute! Recently I made a quilt for my seven year old grandson. Each time he came to visit, we would draw up a new design and choose colors, then I would make that row. Then he would come again and it would start again. Upon completion he was so excited, he kept telling me what a good job I did! To Funny! He insisted we take to the quilt shop and show the girls! He was so very proud to carry that quilt in and spread it out on the cutting table and share his story. ( how his Grandma and him made it up and sewed it) . The girls got such a kick out of him. Great memories for sure. I'm already to do it again, it could become a habit!

  3. Oh my gosh that's so sweet and the whole reason why we make these quilts in the first place! I love how much she loves her Ganny. Just the best.
