I joined in the Starburst QAL with
Melissa Corry @ http://happyquiltingmelissa.blogspot.com/2013/03/finish-up-those-starburst.html. Here is the finished quilt, it measures 84" square, its a monster!!
I used Kona Gray and a mixed assortment of fat quarters from my stash. I wanted a modern look as its for my picky older sister who doesnt really care for traditional patchwork...hopefully she likes it or she can give it back! Ya hear?!
This was a fun quilt-a-long...Melissa is awesome, and does such a great job coordinating everything and her tutorials are fantastic...
Thanks Melissa!!
It looks amazing Julianne! Great finish! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love how you did your sashing! Makes it just stand out and your colors are gorgeous - don't know how your sister wouldn't love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the grey backing, it really sets the colours off beautifully. Dropping by from Freemotion by the River :)
ReplyDeleteI find I like the Modern Quilt Movement look a lot. But it has to be hard to move into something that looks like that when it isn't what you are used to. I haven't tried to do that yet, but no doubt I will at some point. Your quilt is a beautiful example.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt Julianne! Thanks for sharing.

I love this quilt! You can always send it to me if your sister doesn't like it. ;O)
ReplyDeleteWow kona grey? I love and thanks for sharing will think about this for my quilting projects.
ReplyDeleteI really love the grey with the colors. She does have great tutorials!
ReplyDeleteYour sister would be crazy not to love that. I wanted to join in on this one but I'm way too busy these days. Oh well, maybe next time.
