Every few months or so, I dig into my kid friendly scraps and make a pile of these 9 patch blocks for "Children with Cleft Palette"..these sweet children are born with this horrible condition and still manage to give you a smile. I mail these blocks to a lady in Southern California who puts together quilts and sends them to the hospital where these children have donated free surgerys to fix their cleft palette. Thank goodness for surgeons who donate their time to help these kids! Every child that has the surgery gets a snuggly quilt to take home...
These 9 patches are made from 3 1/2" squares. Very simple! If you would like to help these kiddos and send some blocks, please contact me and I will give you the information...
Thanks Quilty friends!
What a lovely idea! I'm working toward a pile of enough scraps to get a charity quilt done, shouldn't be long now.
