Round Robin Reveal!

I'm late to the party! Life is crazy!

I joined in with Bea over at BeaQuilter for the second
Round Robin this year.  Thats where you send your center block off to 4 different quilters who add a row each month and you get to add rows to 4 different quilts over four months.  Does that make sense?

Like this:

Month 1 (May): Make a 12 ½” block (12 finished) – any design you wish
Month 2: June adds 4” blocks all the way around (now 20” x 20”)
Month 3: July adds 5” blocks all the way around (now 30” x 30”)
Month 4: August adds 6” to top and bottom ONLY (now 30” x 42”)
Month 5: September adds 6” blocks all the way around (now 42” x 54”)
Month 6: October adds 3” blocks all the way around (now 48” x 60”)

Anyways, on with the parade!

The first quilt I received had stacked books....so I added
hearts and the the word "Books" to it...Love books...get it?

I added the 2nd round to this gorgeous moose quilt!
Its the framing with the green cornerstones...

This next one is Beas quilt...I added the 9 patches all the way around.  Isn't her center block great?

This next one was Carols #1 quilt, she acted as
two on each quilt....
I added the churn dashes to this round, love this scrappy deliciousness!  So fun!!

Heres Carols #2 quilt...another Scrappy masterpiece!!  I added the final border
with those little hearts and squares....Beautiful!!

These next four photos are of my quilt!  I cant seem to find the
picture of my center block all by itself, but you will get the idea....its a
Christmas themed quilt...sort of a fancy country style....

Just look at those gorgeous Snail blocks and stars!!

Bow ties and fussy cut birds!!!

Paper pieced trees....LOVE THEM!!

and the final quilt...OMG OMG OMG!! Amazing!!

Just look at it!  Isnt it gorgeous???

All these ladies did such a fantastic job!  I am truly impressed by the skills of each quilter!

I LOVE IT!!  THANK YOU!!

MORTY

This is Morty. Voldemort. Mortimer.

Morty "happened" to us...we weren't in the market for
another dog, and certainly not a small dog, but here he is.....Hes a Cairn Terrier Mix...hes a complete love bug, all whopping 12 pounds of him. He's never far from one of us.

And who knew? He LOVES my quilts! Little bugger
just burrows right in and falls asleep and he SNORES!!!

I am always finding him snuggled up in one!

Especially when I am trying to sew a binding, good lord dog, give me a break, I have stuff to get done here....I suppose
he thinks he needs to "test" it...ya think??

Now see this?  This is called a Belly Band.

Its for Morty!

Mortys one BAD BAD thing is that HE MARKS!!
Yes, that means he likes to lift his leg on my furnishings!!!

NOOOO!! HELL NOOOO!!!

Now before you say anything, I got him neutered...those
ugly things are gone, he's still asking where they went.
But he's still in this nasty habit so here we are with super deluxe special made to order Belly Bands....
they are the dog owners blessing from above!!

For those of you who don't know, they wrap around
his back and "boy" section  and velcro in place
so that when he lifts his leg, he pees on the belly band and not my stuff...ITS WONDERFUL...then I just toss them in a bucket of sudsy water/vinegar and clean them up!  Its super duper awesome!!

I made them with a 5" by 18" strip of fabric and the same size
strip of flannel or fleece for the inside.  Sewed them and turned them and added the velcro! WAAALAAA!!

I'm a happy  momma!

Morty just might live!

Thanks for cruising by my little blog today!
Hope you have a great Friday!!!

A Modern Finish!!

A Finish! Yippee!

My local quilt shop High Sierra Quilters
is a great little store, the owners name is Doug, I call
him "Dougie", and he is great.  He puts up
with my crazyness and we have a good time.
One thing he lets me do is dig through his scrap bin thats under the cutting table..I think I am the only customer
who does this AND checks his trash can for scraps...HA! What can I say, I love me some scraps and I have found some good stuff in there!!  Anyways, one day while
digging through the scrap bin, I found almost a whole quilt
in there!  He was gonna chuck it out...I told him I wanted it so he gave it to me...check this out!

Its all modern prints, Skyscrapers!!
Its beautiful, its very "manly".  All I had to do was add the black to the bottom and then the borders.   I then found a great backing at Dougs that went perfectly, and bonus, it was on clearance for 50% off!  Then I quilted it on my Singer 301A with some long wavy lines and bound it in the same fabric as the backing.

TA DA!! Done!!

I think its a great guy quilt, someone is going to love it!

Score!

Boom! Vacation Time BOM Done!

In January of 2015, I started making
Pat Sloans Vacation Time Block of the month.
Pat always has such great quilt-a-longs and has such talent in all her designs...this block of the month was alot of fun each and every month.  My choice of fabrics was super easy, my sister had picked out a pile of Aqua/Brown combination fabrics YEARS ago for me to make a quilt for her....well, that time came and we have a quilt! Yippee!!!  So this Christmas, she is getting this quilt, I know she will love it!!

Here are all the blocks from each month...

We did all of these blocks and then we were given border blocks to make one month, and then setting blocks and instructions to complete the quilt top.  I quilted it on my
Singer 301A, I was quite happy with the results, only a couple of puckers on the back...Woooohoooo!! Then while supporting my husband at his bowling league, I hand stitched down the binding and its a done deal...and in plenty of time for Christmas!!  Yay!  Here it is!!

I'm very pleased with this finish, I just know my sister is going to love it!  It matches her bedroom!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A QBSA finish for ME!

I am a member of Quilting Block Swaps Australia...
Its so much fun swapping blocks with quilters all over the globe! Australia, New Zealand, Spain, England...USA!

For a couple of years, my block choice was the paper pieced
Lonestar done in random scraps with any dark blue background.  Along the way I received many beautiful blocks and a few undersized blocks, I always thanked each and every lady for their beautiful block addition to my quilt and never complained.  Everyone sews at their own level and learns each and every time that they make a block....so its a win win for me and I just don't see the point of complaining...besides,
the undersized blocks look awesome on the back of my quilt!

I did have a make a few of my own blocks to get the number I wanted and I rounded up a couple quilting buddies to make me a block, my pal Julie who lives local to me and my bestest bloggy BFF Kathy in Ohio...shout out...I love ya girl!!

So without further hesitation, I give you
SCRAPPY LONESTARS!

Being the scrappy lunatic that I am I pieced fabric crumbs onto strips of scrap paper and then trimmed them up and used them as the sashings......Whoop Whoop!

SCRAPPY GOODNESS!!

It was longarmed in a meandering star pattern with
rainbow thread, just perfect!

See? Dont those "unperfect" blocks look great on the back??

Its magnificent, I love it and its all mine!

Of course a few others want to test it out...

Morty

 Puka

Jayden!!

I think its a winner!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week!
